The final exam will be on December 16th from 2 to 4pm in
RLM 6.104.

Review for the final: Here are some guidelines.

Extra office hours for the week of Dec. 11-15: M 1:30-3:00,
W 11-12:30, Th 1-2pm and Friday 11-1pm.

Midterms:


Exam 1:  Thursday October 12th. The exam will be on Sections 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 3.1 and 3.2.

Exam 2: Tuesday November 21st. The exam will be on Sections 3.3, 3.4, 3.6, 3.7, 4.1-4.4, 5.1-5.4.



Quizzes

Quiz #1:  September 19th: Sections 1.1 and 1.2. This will be a 10 minute quiz.

Quiz #2: October 31st: Sections 3.3, 3.4 and 3.6. This will be a 15 minute quiz.

Quiz #3: November 14th: Sections 4.1 and 4.2. This will be a 15 minute quiz.

Quiz #4: December 5th: Sections 5.1-5.4. This will be a 15 minute quiz.

Quiz #5: Assignment: Due December 8th, by 5pm. 
Everyone was matched with another
person in class and the two people are responsible for meeting in the next
week and a half. If you don't know who you are matched with please send me an e-mail.

At the meeting you are to bring with you 2 problems that you did not
understand or know how to do or missed on the exam. Then you are to
discuss them with the other person and get help on figuring them out. If
both of you do not know how to do a problem, then that means you probably
need to come talk to me and get help figuring it out.
At the end I would like you to write a SHORT report about this. It should
be a paragraph or two mentioning the following:
1. Whether or not you met and who was the other person.
2. What problems did you discuss?
3. Did you figure out your questions?
4. Was this beneficial?
5. If you were to take the exam again do you think that you would (a) do
about the same, (b) improve your score by a little or (c) improve your
score by a lot? (Be honest! I won't take it into account for your final
grade:) )
