Lecturer Positions


Job Description:

The Department of Mathematics is developing a pool of Lecturer candidates for non-tenure track teaching positions. Positions are not available every semester. Primary duties include teaching lower and upper division undergraduate courses. A full-time position consists of teaching three courses per semester. Appointments are made each semester, with continuing appointments contingent upon satisfactory performance, instructional need, and budgetary constraints. A Ph.D. in the mathematical sciences is required, although the rare exception may be made for applicants with special technical qualifications desired by the department.  Also reqired is previous teaching experience at the university level, commitment to quality teaching, and good communication skills. Additional consideration may be given to applicants with experience and/or interest in working on course coordination/development, advising, and other departmental needs.
