Algebra Seminar : Representations of Hecke Algebras 2 by David Ben-Zvi (University of Texas Austin) in RLM 10.176
I'll describe two of the cornerstones of geometric representation theory: the classification of representations of affine Hecke algebras (Kazhdan-Lusztig) and the action of finite Hecke algebras on characters of representations of real Lie groups (aka Kazhdan-Lusztig theory, after a different paper). Both statements have "categorified" versions, due to Bezrukavnikov and Beilinson-Bernstein, respectively. Time permitting (unlikely), I'll explain (without too much categorification) recent work with David Nadler in which we use a combination of the two to give a "spectral decomposition" for categories of representations of real Lie groups.
