Junior Analysis: De Giorgi Method: Applications to Highly Non-linear Equations by Logan Stokols in RLM 10.176
De Giorgi's method was pioneered to attack a linear heat equation with rough (discontinuous) coefficients. The key ingredient, so it seemed, was that the equation was coercive, meaning the second order term could be treated essentially as a Laplacian. This talk, based on joint work with A. Vasseur, will demonstrate how this method can be applied to highly non-linear equations without coercivity. Submitted by
