UT Austin ASC SOA/CAS Exam DVD Seminars

     ASC provides Club Members with an opportunity to rent DVD Seminars for exams P/1 and FM/2 and MLC free of charge. Members can rent the DVD's from Friday till Monday, or from Monday to Friday. To prevent loss/damage to DVD's, we ask the renter for a deposit. Deposit check will be discarded when DVD's are returned on time and in good shape. Thank you for understanding.

    The University of Texas Actuarial Science Club and CO-OP are sponsoring cost effective exam-prep seminars for the joint SOA/CAS exams P/1 and FM/2. Dr. Mark M. Maxwell, PhD, ASA, a visiting professor at UT, was leading both seminars in Spring. He has taught actuarial classes for several years. He is currently finishing a textbook on probability which SOA will use as a suggested text for the P/1 exam.

    Attendees should be familiar with the important concepts and techniques used to solve problems coming for the seminar.  If you have questions about the seminar beyond the information here, please address them to one of the club's Officers.

Additional Information about the Live Seminars:

Format	Each day's session of the seminar will consist of: Demonstration of problems by Dr. Maxwell (with explanations of concepts and approaches) Guided practice solving problems (you work on the problem, with optional guidance)
Schedule	P/1 Seminar Fall 2009 Schedule     - Friday (10/30) 2:00pm - 4:00pm     - Saturday (10/31) 8:00am - 10:00am and 1:00pm - 3:00pm     - Sunday (11/1) 8:00am - 10:00am and 1:00pm - 2:30pm  FM/2 Seminar Fall 2009 Schedule     - Friday (10/30) 4:30pm - 6:30pm     - Saturday (10/31) 10:30am - 12:30pm and 3:30pm - 5:30pm     - Sunday (11/1) 10:30am - 12:30pm and 1:00pm - 2:30pm
Materials	After the seminar, participants will be e-mailed Edited Student Sample  Exam.

Comments	On the seminar weekend, we recommend students to bring a sweater since the room temperature tends to be colder than desired.

    You do not have to be a club member to register.
