The form used to create a new site is available from
here.
Fields on the form should be self explanatory. A detailed explanation
follows.
- Site name: This is the directory name for your site. Please
choose a word that best reflects your site. For example, if you're
creating your homepage, your name or your unix username should be most
appropriate. Sitename should be alpha numerical without spaces.
- Site title: This is your page title. It is the piece of text displayed on your browser's titlebar. It is also the content of the title tag of your main index page.
- Keywords: This is the content of the keyword meta tag of
your main index page. Its sole purpose is to help search engines to
index your page more accurately. Rumor has that if you use "sex" as a
keyword to promote your site, the word "sex" must appear explicitly in the content or web
crawlers will think it's being cheated, and consequently, will
rank your page lower.
- Template: This will be the default layout for your site. It
is highly recommended that you use the same template throughout your
site. If you are not satisfied for any reason, you can change it all at
once later. Please note that your user can select any of the available themes to view your site at anytime.
