Professor Tamas Hausel has just been recognized by receiving a Whitehead Prize for 2008,  one of four given this year by the London Mathematical Society. The citation reads

"for his investigations into hyperkähler geometry which have led him to prove deep results in fields as diverse as the representation theory of quivers, mirror symmetry and Yang-Mills instantons."
