The "Pinwheel Aperiodic Tiling" was discovered by Professor Charles Radin of the Mathematics Department, University of Texas at Austin. It is constructed by recursively dissecting a right triangle with sides 1,2 and Sqrt[5]. |
Tower lights up to celebrate Longhorns BCS Championship.
The Tower at The UT Austin were lighted entirely orange with the #1 displayed on Jan. 5 to celebrate the Texas Longhorns national championship victory at the 92nd Rose Bowl game in Pasadena, California. The Longhorns clinched the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) title with a 41-38 win over the University of Southern California (USC). The victory marks the universitys fourth national title and its first since 1970. |
