Asymptotic Distance Between Zeros of Orthogonal Polynomials
Satisfying Second-Order Differential Equations.
ABSTRACT. There is a simple way to find the distance between zeros of
orthogonal polynomials (in the limit as the degree of a polynomial
becomes large) if the latter satisfy second-order differential
equations. The proposed approach is based on application of a polynomial
ansatz to the differential equation. As an example,
the classical orthogonal polynomials are considered.
