Jane Arledge Wins John Durbin Teaching Excellence Award

Jane Arledge

Dr. Jane Arledge is the 2010-11 recipient of the John R. Durbin Teaching Excellence Award in Mathematics.

She joined the department in fall 2008, and since then established herself as a superb teacher in a variety of service and majors courses. In the short time she has been here, she has taken on a substantial role in the undergraduate program: she serves as the department scheduler, as the undergraduate advisor, as a member of the undergraduate studies program. She has also been active in many of the departmental initiatives, such as restructuring the curriculum and placement requirements.

Dr. Arledge personifies the selfless service and fine teaching that has been associated with John Durbin, and it a fitting recipient of this award.
