Conference Information:

 

Conference check-in will be in Robert L. Moore Hall (RLM) Room 12.104.

Robert L. Moore Hall is the very tall building located on the UT Austin

campus at the southeast corner of 26th Street (Dean Keeton Blvd) and

Speedway. Free parking is available in the lot on the southwest corner.

Please be careful not to park in any spaces which are "reserved at all

times". Paid parking is available in the parking garage which is entered

on 27th St. The lectures will be held in CPE 2.208 (Chemical and Petroleum

Engineering, the building just to the north of RLM, across 26th street).

Before the Friday lecture, a complimentary buffet will be provided

in RLM 12.104.

 

The conference will continue all day Saturday and until noon on Sunday

with lectures in CPE 2.208 and continental breakfast in RLM 12.104. Lunch

Saturday will be on your own (a map showing nearby restaurants will be

provided). There will be a banquet on Saturday evening (around

$25 per person) at a nearby Indian restaurant.

 

We have reserved small blocks of rooms at the Rodeway Inn-University

($58 single,$68 double; 888-792-9466) and at the Days Inn-University

($69 single or double, 800-725-ROOM) which are within walking distance

of the UT Mathematics Department, and at LaQuinta-Capitol ($89 single

or double, 1-800-642-4239 option 3) which is 15 blocks south

of the department but close to the 6th St entertainment district. You are

responsible for making your own hotel reservations, but do mention the

Texas Geometry & Topology Conference to get the special group rate. Please

reserve your rooms TODAY.

 

Transportation from the airport: Taxi fare to UT or the hotels runs

about $25. You may also take a shuttle which is a little cheaper, as well

as the Route 100 city bus which will deposit you one block east of the

Math Dept at 26th St and San Jacinto.

 

The Texas Geometry and Topology Conference is partially supported by

the National Science Foundation. Everyone is welcome. There are no

registration fees.

 

The Texas Geometry and Topology Conference is committed to the

strengthening and enrichment of the mathematics personnel base.

We expect to be able to partially cover the expenses of some participants.

Graduate students, junior faculty, women, minorities, and persons with

disabilities are especially encouraged to participate and to apply for support.
