Thanks, Andreas. I believe that is in the interest of harmony among
the developers.

My advice to you is to post a message to the mailing list saying
"I am planning to do X; are there any objections" before doing
something that might be disputed. (And if there is no response to
such a message, I have usually assumed that nobody cares
about the topic in question, and I go ahead.)
