Vadim,

what I reported might suggest, that my second attempt to install Maxima was dependend 
from the first installation. But this was not the case. I had to install all other programs (MS 
Office too) to "C:\program files\" to have them properly working in "C:\Programme\". 

My guess is, that all installation paths step through some kind of translation process (maybe 
even in an English Vista?).
Unfortunately I cant tell more at the moment. I am not working with Vista.
