[Maxima] windows and sockets

Hi.

I am making some lectures about maxima for new users and occurs very coplains 
about sockets. There are users that at the first maxima run section they 
dissable firewall maxima access and uninstall the software for security 
reasons.

Is possible make the sockets optional during the instalation process ????

I am losting users.
