Good question.  I don't know either.  If you expect it to always be 
available, then src is a good place.  If you think it's an addon then 
use share.

I think src is a good place.

Robert could give a definitive answer.

In some ways, I which more things were separate from src and would 
autoload.  I don't think we're quite there yet.
