Binaries compiled for 32-bit CentOS Linux probably won't work on your system.
(On some systems you can get libreadline4 for backward compatibility,
but I don't think that's going to help in this case.)
My advice is to recompile Maxima for your system.
You will need a Lisp implementation such as Clisp, CMUCL, SBCL, or GCL.
Try Clisp first. You can recompile Maxima from the maxima-5.16.3.tar.gz
or from a src.rpm.
If anyone has suitable binaries available, I hope they will speak up.
