[Maxima] wxMaxima slows down

I noticed that for large expressions the new wxMaxima is much slower than the last release and I also noticed for large notebooks it 
gets slower as the commands get executed when you select "evaluate all cells".  So the same command issued in input line 70 might 
take 1 second when in line 2 it is almost instantaneous.  I do not get this behavior in command line Maxima.
