Yes, please do. All functions which introduce their own
assumptions should do likewise (but if we can fix the Laplace
functions at least, that is good enough for now).

I wonder if UNWIND-PROTECT is strong enough.
I ran into a problem recently in which UNWIND-PROTECT
failed to catch something, and so I had to put
IGNORE-ERRORS instead.
