Integrated, co-operative work is an essential part of the RTG program. Responsibilities for an undergraduate researcher are:
Any undergraduate who is a full-time student at the Univresity of Texas at Austin may apply; however, applicants must be United States citizens or permanent residents.
Students do not have to be mathematics majors; in fact applications of mathematics to other fields are encouraged. However, the research being proposed must have a strong mathematics component.
The rtg is a competitive research program; applications will be evaluated by a faculty committee, and will be judged on creativity, depth, and ability of the applicant to to complete the proposed research. Generally, an application is for one semester, and is given to one individual; some exceptions may be made.
Applicants fill out an information form, and also submit a research proposal. Research projects should be carried out under the supervision of a faculty member at UT Austin, and the proposal should include a letter of recommendation from supervising faculty.
