Namyoon Lee (Graduate Student 2012-2015)

Postech, Korea
namyoon.lee@intel.com

Namyoon Lee received his Ph. D. in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin in 2014.  He is now with Wireless Communications Research at Intel Labs, Santa Clara, CA, USA. His primal research interest is to developing and analyzing future wireless communication systems using tools including multi-antenna network information theory and stochastic geometry.

Anup Biswas (Postdoctoral Fellow 2013-2014)

Indian Inst. of Science Education and Research
anupbiswas@utexas.edu

Dr Anup Biswas was a Simon postdoctoral fellow at the ECE department of UT, Austin, during 2013-2014. His primary research area lies in stochastic control and probability theory. During his stay in Austin he was mentored by Prof. Ari Arapostathis and Prof. Francois Baccelli. Anup Biswas received his doctoral degree from TIFR centre for Applicable Mathematics, India, in 2011 and he also held a Viterbi postdoctoral position at Technion, Israel, during 2011-2013. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at the Mathematics department of Indian Inst. of Science Education and Research, Pune, India. Anup's website.

Javad Ghaderi (Postdoctoral Fellow 2013-2014)

Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, UT Austin

The research interests of Javad Ghaderi are broadly in the analysis, design, and management of large-scale networked systems. In particular, my research draws upon mathematical tools from control, optimization, information theory, algorithms, and stochastic processes to study communication networks, wireless systems, social networks, and data centers. He was a Simons Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of ECE in 2013-14. He is now an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering of Columbia University in NY. Webpage.

Joe Neeman (Postdoctoral Fellow 2013-2015)

Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Department of Mathematics, UT Austin
joeneeman@gmail.com

Dr. Joe Neeman has been a postdoctoral researcher in the UT Math and ECE departments since fall 2013. He will be an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics of UT Austin from the summer of 2016 and a faculty member of the Simons Center for Mathematics of Networks.

Ngoc Mai Tran (Postdoctoral Fellow 2013-2015)

Department of Mathematics, UT Austin
ntran@math.utexas.edu

Starting June 2015 she will be a W-2 Professor at the University of Bonn, Germany. She will then be an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics of UT Austin from the summer of 2017 and a faculty member of the Simons Center for Mathematics of Networks. Ngoc Tran has also been recently appointed as five-year Honorary Senior Lecturer (Level C) with the Australian National University, Australia.

Virag Shah (Postdoctoral Fellow 2016)

ECE dept., UT Austin
virag@utexas.edu
I am a postdoc with Prof. Francois Baccelli. My work involves developing scalable models and performance analysis for queueing systems.
Broadly, my research interests include:
  • System optimization and algorithm design under uncertainty, reliability, and for sustainability.
  • Large scale stochastic models and mean field approximations.
  • Engineering of scalable complex systems, e.g., Cloud and Internet of Things.
