Announcements
Extra Office Hours I will have extra office hours

FINAL EXAM The Final will be on Saturday, August 16th, from 7 to 10pm in RLM 5.104. I have posted a review sheet
for the final with some problems that are of the same level as problems for the final. Remember that you need to know the
graphs and properties of the functions in the library and memorize the unit circle.
Algebra review
If you want to review some algebra that you're rusty on, I recommend reading Appendix A and doing some problems
at the end of the section. Here is a breakdown of the objectives you might want to look at:
- From Appendix A.1:
1- Work with sets: This will help those of you who are still not sure how to write the domain in set notation.
- 4- Evaluate algebraic expressions: This is just to plug in number into expressions, probably most of you are OK with that.
- 5- Determine the domain of a variable: More domain practice.
- 6- Use the laws of exponents: like the title says, if you want to practice laws of exponents.
- 7- Evaluate square roots.
Appendix A.3:
All of it is important. The special products and long division and factoring objectives are particularly important for
the second midterm.
Appendix A.5: This is especially important if you need practice with anything involving operations with fractions
and rational expressions (like the ones we're using in sections 4.2 and 4.3).
Appendix A.6: About solving equations. Good practice using the quadratic formula (objective 6) and a review on completing
the square (4 and 5).
This is how you find out about the homework assignments you have to turn in every Tuesday and Thursday (although sometimes you will have homework due on Monday).
I wrote down some important dates for you.
