Research

My research focuses on the birational geometry of moduli spaces. In particular, I have produced several rational
maps from Mg,1 to other spaces that have interesting geometric consequences.

Canada/USA Mathcamp
I served as a mentor for this summer program, designed to teach mathematics to
highly accelerated high school students, during the summer of 2007.

Intellectual Entrepreneurship Pre-Graduate School Internship
I have served as a volunteer mentor for the program, in which graduate students
are paired with undergraduate interns, for two semesters. My interns are:

Yousif Seedham, Spring 2007
Christy Sheldon, Fall 2008

Some Brief Facts About Me

I am originally from Bedford, NH, a small town just outside of Manchester.
While there, I attended Derryfield School. I then went to Williams College,
where I majored in math and philosophy, and wrote an honors thesis under
the supervision of Susan Loepp. I am currently a graduate student in
mathematics at the University of Texas at Austin, where I study algebraic
geometry under the direction of Sean Keel.
