SLICING QUADRIC SURFACES

    Now let's slice each quadric surface: see if you see where the axes would be drawn


SPHERE:
$x^2 + y^2 + z^2 = 1$
ELLIPSOID:
$$\frac{x^2}{a^2}+\frac{y^2}{b^2}+\frac{z^2}{c^2}=1$$


CIRCULAR CYLINDER:
$y^2 + z^2 = 1$
PARABOLIC CYLINDER:

$z = y^2$


ONE-SHEETED HYPERBOLOID:
$x^2 + y^2 - z^2 = 1$
TWO-SHEETED HYPERBOLOID:

$z^2 - x^2 - y^2 = 1$


CONE:
$z^2  = x^2 + y^2$
PARABOLOID:

$z = x^2 + y^2$


HYPERBOLIC CYLINDER:
$z^2 - y^2  = 1$
HYPERBOLIC PARABOLOID:

$z =  x^2 - y^2 $
