Text: Sullivan, Precalculus, Custom Edition for UT-Austin (taken from 8th edition).
Course Content Description: M305G is an introduction to functions. At least a basic understanding of functions is required for any college level natural science or statistics course. The course covers sets, algebra of functions, inverse functions, logarithms, exponential functions, trigonometric functions, inverse trigonometric functions, polynomials, and the range, domain and graphs of these functions.
Grading:
Your grades will be posted on the CLIPS website.
Homework: Homework will be assigned in class and will be collected at the beginning of class on Fridays. I do not accept late homework, period. If you are late to class, your homework is late and will not be accepted. Your lowest 3 homework grades will be dropped. If you know you are going to miss a class get your homework to me before it is due.
Quizzes: There will often be a short (5-10 minute) quiz at the beginning of class. I do not give make-up quizzes (even if you miss class for good reason); however, your lowest 3 quiz grades will be dropped.
Tests: There will be three 50-minute midterm exams. If you cannot make it to one of the midterms, you must let me know before the day of the test. Make up exams are only given in cases where there is a documented excuse. The midterm test dates are:
Final Exam: Implicit in registering for this class is your agreement that you will be present to take the final exam at the time listed in the course offerings.

September 1, Labor Day holiday
September 24, Last day to drop without possible academic penalty
October 22, Last day to drop with dean’s approval
November 27-29, Thanksgiving holidays
December 5, Last day of class
Electronics: The use of calculators will not be allowed during exams. Also, you are not allowed to use your laptops, cellphones or other portable electronics during class.
