The Mathematics Department is pleased to announce its first-ever
   LINEAR ALGEBRA COMPETITION.

In addition to its regular prize competition for Calculus students,
we are able this year to offer prizes to the top papers in a
Linear Algebra competition. The questions will be difficult but
drawn from the material that is presented in both M341 and M340L.
Participation will be limited to students who are in one of those
courses now or who completed them in Spring or Summer of 2017.
(That is, more advanced students are not eligible.)

First prize will be $300, second prize $200, third prize $100.

The exam will be held next Tuesday, Dec 12, 10am-noon, in RLM 6.104.
Please observe that this is during the no-class days, after classes
have ended and before finals have begun.

This contest is held in addition to the Bennett competition in
Calculus, which will be held concurrently, and after which it is modeled.
