REVIEW FOR EXAM 3
- We will meet this Friday, April 27,
3-5:30 pm in RLM 5.116 for our exam
review. Teams of you, the students, have been assigned a section from
the material in order to prepare a 5 minute review to present to the
class on Friday and pick a few representative problems to work. Check
here for a detailed
guideline on how to prepare the review!
- Here is a brief outline of the material covered
in
class so far and relevant for exam 1. At the end, you will also find a
couple of
additional practice problems.
- For your convenience, here is a summary
of important convergence
tests as well as series
expansions which you are supposed to know for exam 3 (by
courtesy of Dr. John Gilbert).
- Here is a practice exam for you. Choose 20 of
these problems to create your own mock-exam. Then, some time this
weekend, you should allow
yourself two hours without interruptions in a quiet area without books,
notes, calculators etc. to work these 20 practice problems in a
test-like
situation. This is important so you can learn to pace yourself (about 6
minutes per problem)! Use a separate sheet of paper for your work and
to mark your answers!
- PRACTICE EXAM: In
order to make it
easier for you to create a test-like situation we will get together on Sunday,
April 29, 5:30 - 7:30 PM in RLM 4.102 to give you
the opportunity to
work through the practice exam. Please bring your own print-out of the
practice exam!
- Just in case you want to more practice
with infinite series, here are some more sample problems.
- Here are the
solutions to the practice
exam and the additional sample
problems!
- More chances for reviewing and studying
for the test and getting help with homework and practice problems:
- Discussion 8-9 am on Monday - we'll
have Ryan and Omar to help us :-)
- Extended Office hours 1:30 - 4 pm on
Monday
- Class 10-11 am on Tuesday
PLEASE
MAKE SURE TO BRING YOUR QUESTIONS TO ALL OF THESE!
