REQUIREMENTS FOR MASTER'S IN STATISTICS
DEGREE
The degree consists of 33 hours of course work, distributed as follows:
I. Four core courses
These courses must be completed with grades of B or better. If a
student receives a grade less than B in one of the courses, the student
must pass an examination on the content of these courses.
II. Major electives
Six to twelve
hours of additional statistics courses. These may be selected
from a variety of departments and must be approved by the Graduate
Advisor.
III. The minor (also known as supporting work)
Six to twelve hours in a subject area other than statistics but which
together with statistics makes a coherent degree program. These courses must
be approved by the graduate advisor.

Additional Restrictions:
- At most nine hours of undergraduate (upper division only) hours may
be counted toward the degree. At most six of these may be in the major and
at most six in the minor.
- At most six hours of coursework (other than the report course) may
be taken on a CR/NC basis.
- A grade point average of at least 3.0 is required for graduation.
Undergraduate courses are not counted in computing this average
- All required paperwork must be completed by the appropriate deadlines
