Who should consider this degree plan?

  1. Students who would like to apply mathematical tools as well as thinking and problem solving to real-world situations, especially those involving uncertainty.
  2. Students who plan to attend graduate or professional school in areas where a strong quantitative background is desirable. These include: biostatistics, environmental science, epidemiology, law, meteorology, medicine, operations research, public health, public policy, quality assurance, statistics, testing and measurement, toxicology
  3. Students seeking a double major in math and another subject in which quantitative data analysis is used. Examples include: astronomy, biology, business, chemistry, computer science, economics, many areas of engineering, psychology, sociology.

Who should not choose this degree plan?
