About Me

I am originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan. I did my undergraduate work at the University of Michigan,
where I earned bachelor's degrees in Mathematics and Physics. I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in
Mathematics at the University of Texas at Austin, working with Rafael de la Llave. I live in flavorful
"east Austin" with my wife, Abby.

Research Interests

My main interests are in Dynamical Systems and Partial Differential Equations. A current project
involves finding plane-like minimizers of an energy functional (Aubry-Mather theory for PDEs)
using steepest descent techniques, and the numerical methods for implementing these techniques.

Teaching

I am not teaching this semester. In the past, I have been the GRA for Moore Method style (IBL)
classes Real Analysis I (M 365C, Spring 2009) and Introduction to Real Analysis (M 361K, Fall 2008).
I have also been the instructor for Precalculus (M 305G, Fall 2007 and Spring 2008), as well as a
teaching assistant for Advanced Calculus II (Summer 2009 - M 427L), Calculus (M 408C, Summer 2007)
and for Differential Equations (M 427K, Fall 2005, Spring 2006).
