Textbook: Elementary Number Theory and its applications, sixth edition, Kenneth H. Rosen, Addison-Wesley. We will cover most of chapters 3,4,6 and 9 and bits of a few other chapters. We will follow this syllabus.

Tests: Midterm on 3/20 in class covering sections 1.5, 3.1, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5 and 3.7. Final on Friday, May 10, 2:00-5:00 pm in RLM 5.118.
In registering for this class you are implicitly confirming your availability to take the final at the officially scheduled time.

Homework: I will assign homework on a weekly basis and it will be due at the beginning of the following week, unless otherwise stipulated. Selected problems (not all problems) will be graded. Homework must be neatly done and stapled if more than one page long. Late or sloppy homework will not be graded.

Grades: The two best grades from among the midterm, homework average and final will count 50% each for the course grade. Makeups will not be given.
