The web is a fast evolving playground for modern computing. As such, the technolgy behind it is also evolving. There is overwhelmingly large amount of information available on the net about web publishing.

W3schools.com has a set of well organized materials on its website. It contains lots of interative examples.

• A List Apart contains many well written articles on various topics related to web design.
• If you wish to go beyond static webpages, you'll need to know a little about scripting. On the server side, we recommend PHP, the most popular and the fastest server side scripting language. Here is a nice introduction on PHP. On the client side, you need javascript, the most popular javascript library is jQuery.
