Outreach Goals

An important objective of the SAGE model is to encourage undergraduate students to go on to further studies in mathematics and mathematically intensive disciplines, at all levels. By meeting and observing workshop participants, these students get opportunities to interact with visiting and local researchers and to learn about some current mathematical research in an accessible manner.

On Wednesday, September 28, 2011, UT faculty members Dan Knopf, Natasa Pavlovic, and Ted Odell, along with current mathematics graduate student Cory Colbert, spoke to the UT Math Club on “Best practices for applying to graduate programs in mathematics.”

Further events are currently being planned and will be announced here soon.
