Dan Knopf, RLM 9.166: Ricci solitons that flow through conical singularities
Thursday, March 07, 2019, 03:30pm - 04:30pm
The "singular Ricci flows?" introduced by Kleiner and Lott providea satisfactory theory of weak solutions of Ricci flow for 3-manifoldsand PIC 4-manifolds. Bamler and Kleiner proved that singularRicci flows are unique in dimension n=3, thus affirmatively answeringa conjecture of Perelman. I will describe joint work with Angenentwhich shows that uniqueness of weak solutions through singularitiescannot hold in dimensions n=5 and above. The talk will be suitablefor non-experts.
