Logan Stokols, RLM 10.176: On the De Giorgi Method
Friday, February 07, 2020, 03:00pm - 04:00pm
We will discuss the De Giorgi method, invented in 1954 to solve Hilbert's 19th problem. I have used this method on a variety of different problems, and will try to present an overview that places these different applications in context. The talk is meant as a how-to, so anyone who wants to use the method can answer the questions "when is it useful" and "what would I actually have to do."
