In this talk, we aim to give an overview on the subject of (homogeneous) geometric structures on manifolds, starting (approximately) at Mostow Rigidity. We'll talk about (G,X)-structures, knot complements, bending, flexing, bulging, branching, and maybe even eruptions--but mostly we'll talk about a story that takes place in the intersection of geometric topology and the study of "discrete subgroups of Lie groups". At the end I'll try to survey results from some (hopefully) familiar names. We probably won't prove anything, but there will be, as always, pictures.
