M408D - Sequences, Series and Multi-variable Calculus Refresher [Fall 2016]

I will be running the Calculus Refresher course for M408D in the second week of this semester. We will review the most relevant parts of calculus for the 408D course to prepare you for the coming semester.

Students can sign up online to guarantee a seat, but there will be enough room to accommodate walk-ins, so signing up in advance is non-essential. Students actually attending class will be asked to sign in with their student card. Knowing how popular these refreshers are is useful for deciding whether or not to run them in the future, and is helpful with the organisation of the course.

Classes:

Every day from Monday, 29th August until Wednesday, 31st August, 6:00-7:30 RLM 4.102

Structure:

Each day we'll discuss problems on topics selected by the class from problem sets produced by Jay Whitehead of the Sanger Learning Center, which will become available below. Printed copies will also be made available in class. I recommend that students attempt at least part of the problem sets before coming in, so that they can identify which problems they would most like to ask questions about during class. Ideally students will come to class having attempted as many of the problems as possible, and with a list of the problems they would particularly like to talk about.

After each class, I will upload solutions to the exercises to this page, for further practice.
