What are M 375 and M 175, and will they count toward the prob/stat math BS specialization?

M 375 and M 175 are course numbers that are used for independent study courses and for math courses that do not have thier own course number. This includes courses that are being given for the first few times before a course number is assigned to them as well as courses that are given on a one-time only basis.

Whether or not a M 375 that is an organized course will count toward the prob/stat math BS specialization depends on the particular topic that was taught under this number. See the List of Other Courses That Will Count  Toward This Degree for more information on which M 375 classes will count. If you would like to count a M 375 class that is not on this list, including an independent study course, you must check with the Specialization Faculty Advisor before signing up for the course to check whether or not it will count.

For an independent study course to count toward this requirement, it must be approved by the Specialization Faculty Advisor.
