Actuarial Science Club
The Actuarial Science Club assists students interested in a career as an actuary, a business person who uses math and statistics to assess the financial consequences of risk.
MATH CLUB
The Math Club is a community for anyone interested in mathematics at UT, not limited to math majors. Every Tuesday we host guest lectures, where a professor or graduate student talks about an area of math that interests them. These topics range from knot theory to machine learning to quantum computing, depending on the speaker. On Fridays, we host social events!
The Mathematicians of Color Alliance of Texas is a student-run organization open to anyone interested in promoting the mathematical development and achievements of underrepresented groups. Its goal is to create a community of undergraduate and graduate math students of color through social events, mentoring, and tutoring to recruit, retain, support, and empower underrepresented students within the field of math.
ASSOCIATION FOR WOMEN IN MATHEMATICS
The purpose of the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) is to encourage women and girls to study and to have active careers in the mathematical sciences, and to promote equal opportunity and the equal treatment of women and girls in the mathematical sciences. Our local AWM chapter was founded in 2012.
Saturday Morning Math Group
The Saturday Morning Math Group is a UT-sponsored outreach program aimed at junior high and high school students, their teachers, and their parents. A background in beginning algebra and basic geometry is expected but is often unnecessary. It is free and no registration is required. We meet about four times per semester on Saturday mornings from 10:00 am - 12 noon.
