Airport Transportation

The Capital Metro bus system has an Airport Flyer route which travels from the airport to downtown and campus. Fare is $1.00 each way, and the bus will drop you off at the corner of San Jacinto and 21st Street, where San Jacinto Residence Hall is located.

The Airport Flyer departs from the airport every forty minutes from 5:20am to 11:20pm and the trip to campus takes approximately 30 minutes. A schedule can be found here.

Public Transportation Around Austin

A cab from the University to downtown will average $6.00 one-way.

There is a free CapMetro bus (designed to represent a trolley car) called the Dillo, which makes loops through the University and downtown. However, the Dillo only runs until 8 PM.

  • The Orange Dillo travels a route through UT, downtown, and onto the popular South Congress shopping and dining area.
  • The Red Dillo travels a route through UT, downtown, and onto Zilker Park (passing another great “restaurant row.”

The regular CapMetro bus that will be most useful to conference attendees will be the Number 1 bus which passes directly by campus and travels through downtown to the popular South Congress eating and shopping district.
