You've likely heard of the Erlangen program, Felix Klein's 19th century effort to unify geometry with group theory. A thing of the past you say? Well, not quite. As a philosophy, the Erlangen program has certainly invaded many corners of math. More directly, the legacy of Klein's program is alive and well today in the study of homogeneous and locally homogeneous spaces. Important examples of these spaces include the Euclidean, affine and projective geometries. In my talk, I will motivate locally homogeneous spaces and introduce (at least) three different perspectives from which they can be understood.
