Ziheng Chen, : Scale Convergence and Homogenization
Friday, February 05, 2021, 11:00am - 12:00pm
In this talk, we will focus on solutions to elliptic equations with oscillatory coefficients which are parametrized by scale variable ε ≪ 1. The limit of these solutions can be characterized by the homogenization technique, leading to the homogenized elliptic equation. A natural extension of the limiting behavior is given by the scale convergence theory, allowing the fine-scale to take a more flexible form. We will also cover compactness properties as well as the relation to strong/weak convergence.
